Jasper AI lets you cancel your subscription directly from your account, no phone call or email required. This guide walks you through the exact steps, explains refund eligibility, and covers what happens to your projects and brand voice data after cancellation.
Before You Start
Make sure you're the account owner. On team plans, only the workspace owner or an admin with billing permissions can cancel. If someone else set up the account, you'll need them to sign in or transfer ownership first.
It also helps to know your billing cycle. Cancelling doesn't trigger a refund for the current period on monthly plans, so timing matters if you want to avoid another charge.
Step-by-Step: Cancel Jasper from Your Account
- Go to app.jasper.ai and sign in with your account credentials.
- Click your profile icon or workspace name in the bottom-left corner of the dashboard.
- Select Settings from the menu that appears.
- Open the Billing tab on the left side of the settings page.
- Scroll to your current plan and click Cancel Plan (sometimes labeled Cancel Subscription).
- Choose a reason for cancelling when prompted, then click Confirm Cancellation.
- Look for the confirmation email from Jasper. If you don't get one within a few minutes, check spam or contact support.
Your plan stays active until the end of your paid billing period. After that, the account switches to a read-only state.
Track your trial deadline and cancel before you get charged.
If You're Still in Your Free Trial
Jasper's free trial (when offered) runs for 7 days. To avoid being charged, cancel before the trial ends using the same steps above. The system will still let you use Jasper for the remaining trial days after you cancel.
Cancel at least 24 hours before your trial ends to make sure the charge doesn't post while a billing cycle is processing.
Refund Policy
Jasper's standard policy doesn't guarantee refunds on monthly subscriptions once you've been charged. For annual plans, refunds are sometimes granted within the first few days of purchase on a case-by-case basis. You'll need to email support directly to request one.
| Situation | Refund Eligible? |
|---|---|
| Monthly plan, cancelled mid-cycle | No, access continues to period end |
| Annual plan, cancelled within 7 days | Usually yes, contact support |
| Annual plan, cancelled after 7 days | No, but access continues to renewal date |
| Free trial cancelled before end | No charge occurs |
| Accidental double charge | Yes, contact billing support |
To request a refund, email billing@jasper.ai or use the chat widget inside the app. Include your account email, plan name, and the charge date.
Downgrade Instead of Cancel
If you like Jasper but the cost is too high, you can downgrade from Pro to Creator instead of cancelling outright. In the same Billing section, click Change Plan and pick the cheaper tier. The switch takes effect at your next billing date.
Switching from monthly to annual can also cut your effective monthly cost by roughly 20%.
What Happens to Your Content After Cancellation
Your documents, brand voices, and knowledge base entries aren't deleted immediately. Jasper keeps your workspace in a read-only state so you can log in and export anything you want to save. Export documents as plain text, Word, or by copying them into another tool.
After an extended period of inactivity, Jasper may archive or delete workspace data. If you plan to come back later, export a backup first.
Common Problems
You don't see a Cancel button. You're probably not the workspace owner. Check the Team or Members page to see who owns the account.
You were charged after cancelling. Confirm the cancellation date in your email receipt. If the charge came after that date, forward the confirmation to billing@jasper.ai and ask for a reversal.
Your account was set up through a reseller or partner. Some Jasper accounts are managed by agencies or through the Business plan. In that case, cancel through the reseller, not directly with Jasper.
Chat support isn't responding. Use the Jasper Help Center to submit a ticket. Business plan customers should reach out to their assigned customer success manager.
After You Cancel
You'll keep access to Jasper until your current period ends. Set a calendar reminder for that date so you can export any final documents. Once the workspace goes read-only, you can still sign in but you can't generate new content.
If you change your mind, you can reactivate by logging in and choosing a plan again. Your saved content will still be there as long as it hasn't been archived.
