Cancelling QuillBot Premium is done entirely from your account dashboard, and it takes about two minutes. This guide walks you through the exact clicks, what happens to your billing, and how to request a refund if you cancelled too late.
Before You Start
Make sure you're logged in to the same QuillBot account that's being billed. If you subscribed through a Google or Facebook login, use that same method to sign in. You'll also want a copy of your billing email handy in case you need to contact support.
Cancelling stops future charges but doesn't automatically refund the current billing period. You'll keep Premium features until your paid term ends.
Step-by-Step: Cancel QuillBot Premium Online
- Go to quillbot.com and sign in to your account.
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the page.
- Select My Account from the dropdown menu.
- Open the Your plan tab on the left sidebar.
- Click Cancel Subscription (or Cancel Auto-Renewal) near your plan details.
- Follow the confirmation prompts and select a reason if asked.
- Look for a confirmation message on screen and a follow-up email from QuillBot.
Once you see the confirmation, your card won't be charged again. Your Premium tools stay active until the current period wraps up, then your account reverts to the free version automatically.
Check whether your purchase is still within the return window.
Cancel by Contacting Support
If the cancel button is missing, greyed out, or you subscribed through a mobile app store, email the support team directly.
- Send a message to support@quillbot.com from the email address on your QuillBot account.
- Use a subject line like "Cancel Premium Subscription".
- Include your account email, the last four digits of your billing card (if known), and a clear request to cancel and stop future charges.
- Wait for a reply. QuillBot support typically responds within 1–2 business days.
You can also open a ticket through the QuillBot Help Center using the contact form at the bottom of any article.
Cancelling a Mobile Subscription
If you subscribed via the iOS App Store or Google Play, you must cancel through that store, not through QuillBot's website.
- iPhone/iPad: Open Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions, tap QuillBot, then Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Open the Play Store app > Profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions, select QuillBot, then Cancel subscription.
Refund Policy
QuillBot offers a 3-day money-back guarantee on new Premium subscriptions. If you cancel within 72 hours of your first purchase, you can request a full refund by emailing support. After that window, refunds are handled case-by-case and aren't guaranteed.
| Situation | Refund Eligible? |
|---|---|
| Cancelled within 3 days of first subscribing | Yes, full refund |
| Cancelled after 3 days, unused period remaining | Case-by-case, contact support |
| Renewal charge you forgot about | Possible partial refund if requested quickly |
| Cancelled through App Store or Play Store | Refund must be requested from Apple or Google |
To request a refund, email support@quillbot.com with your order details and reason. Be polite and specific, as this improves your chances.
Common Problems and Fixes
I don't see a Cancel button. You may have subscribed through Apple or Google. Check your App Store or Play Store subscriptions first. If not, email support directly.
I was charged after cancelling. Confirm the cancellation date in the email QuillBot sent you. If the charge came after that date, forward the confirmation email to support and ask for a refund.
I want to pause, not cancel. QuillBot doesn't currently offer a pause option. Your best move is cancelling and re-subscribing later when you need it.
Cancellation link redirects to an upgrade page. Try a different browser or clear your cookies. If it still won't load, contact support and they'll process it manually.
After You Cancel
Your account stays open on the free plan, which includes a limited paraphraser, grammar checker, and word counter. Your writing history, saved outputs, and settings remain intact, so you can pick up where you left off if you ever resubscribe.
Keep the cancellation confirmation email for at least one billing cycle in case any billing questions come up.
