Sling TV lets you cancel entirely online, no phone call or email required. This guide walks you through the exact clicks, explains what happens to your channels and DVR after you cancel, and covers refund rules if you were charged unexpectedly.
Before You Start
You'll need the email and password tied to your Sling account. If you subscribed through a third party (Roku, Amazon, Apple, or your cable provider), you have to cancel through that platform instead. Sling can't cancel a subscription it doesn't bill directly.
Check your next billing date first by going to your Sling Account page. Cancelling right after a renewal won't get you a refund, but you'll keep watching until the period runs out.
Cancel Sling TV on the Website
- Go to sling.com and sign in with your account email and password.
- Click your profile icon in the top right corner of the page.

What Happens After You Cancel
Your Cloud DVR recordings stay in your account for as long as your subscription is paused, but they'll be deleted after a period of inactivity. If you resubscribe within a few weeks, your recordings and preferences usually come back intact.
Sling does not automatically refund partial months. If you cancel mid-cycle, plan to use the service until your billing date to get your money's worth.
Any add-ons like Sports Extra, Kids Extra, or premium channels (Showtime, Starz) cancel along with your base plan. You don't have to remove them separately.

Getting a Refund From Sling TV

You were charged after cancelling. Check the date on your cancellation confirmation email. If it came before the charge, contact support with a screenshot. Sling should reverse the charge in that case.
You want to pause instead of cancel. Cancelling is the pause. Your account stays open, your recordings hold for a while, and you can resubscribe any time by signing in and picking a plan.
Your subscription came from a promo or gift card. Promotional subscriptions cancel automatically when the credit runs out. You still need to remove your payment method to prevent auto-charging when the promo ends.
Reactivating Later
